Yet, in many cities and counties across the state, Asian Americans continued to be viewed as the model minority with little to no problems; and Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders, for the most part, are largely invisible to the broader community.

Today we would like to invite you to be a part of the solution to change misperceptions, raise greater awareness, and increase the visibility of the Asian and Pacific Islander communities.

On Saturday, May 7, 2011, join hosts Southern California Edison and East West Bank, and their community partners as a sponsor of the Orange County “Live Green” Community Fair & Wellness Walk in celebration of Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month. The Community Fair and Walk will be used to raise awareness about the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities and the challenges facing these diverse communities. Guests and Wellness Walk participants will also learn about ways to be good to themselves and the environment by eating, living, working, and playing healthy, well and “green”.

Don’t miss this fun and family oriented opportunity to reach diverse residents from across Southern California and in particular, Asian and Pacific Islander! Proceeds raised from the Orange County “Live Green” Community Fair & Wellness Walk will be used to provide mini-grants to Asian and Pacific Islander serving non-profits in Orange County.

This event is for all Community Members, Businesses, Families, Students and Teachers!

All proceeds raised from this event will be used to benefit the Asian and Pacific Islander community and families.

Sponsors

Download Sponsorship Form Sponsor contact: Clayton Yeung, cyeung@apalc.org, 213-241-0201

Walk Info

When: Saturday, May 7, 2011

Schedule of Events
8:00 – 9:00 a.m. Registration
9:00 – 10:30 a.m. Walk
10:30 – 2:00 p.m. Free Health Fair & Entertainment

Location:
Cal State Fullerton Titan Sport Complex / Track & Field / Parking Lot A
800 North State College Blvd.
Fullerton, CA 92831
www.fullertontitans.com/directions/csfu-directions.htm
Download Entry Form Online Entry Form

Questions: Mylac Hoang, 714-232-7756, mylac.hoang@sce.com | Vi Nguyen, 714-640-3416, vnguyen@thevncoc.org

Community Partners

Volunteer

Want to Volunteer?
