Linda’s background and career has been associated with the utility industry. Upon graduating from UCLA, Linda became a Home Economist with Southern California Gas Company. After “retiring” in 1968 to raise a family, she returned to work at the Gas Company from 1982 to 1993, where she held various positions.

In 1993, she joined Southern California Edison (SCE) to manage their business offices. She also managed the call center for one year and then joined the Consumer Affairs department in 1996, as the Consumer Affairs Manager.  Linda managed the day to day activities of the Consumer Affairs team who dealt with escalated customer issues and administered outreach programs and services for special needs customers (low-income, seniors, limited English speaking, disabled, etc.)  She maintained the role of consumer advocate within SCE to ensure that consumers were treated fairly and equitably.  Linda was selected to participate in a one-year job rotation program and, in January 2005, became the Business Communications Division Communications Manager.  She will return to her regular position as Consumer Affairs Manager in January 2006.

Related to her work, Linda is active in SOCAP (Society of Consumer Affairs Professionals in Business) where she serves on the Southwest Region Chapter Board and has also served on a national committee. In 1999, SCE Consumer Affairs received the GLAC SOCAP corporate award for excellence in service to customers and community.  Linda was honored as the outstanding individual in Consumer Affairs for 2001 by GLAC SOCAP.  Linda is also a board member of the National Low Income Energy Consortium.

Linda’s volunteer efforts include the Mary Magdalene Project , Inc. where she recently completed two years as President of the Board. This is a non-profit organization which brings hope and wholeness to the lives of women who are victims of street prostitution.  Linda is currently serving as Resource Committee Chairperson overseeing fundraising and volunteer efforts.

Linda is an active member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in South Pasadena, where she recently served as chairperson of the Fundraising Committee for the church’s 100th Anniversary celebration. She has served on Session, was Christian Education Chairman, initiated youth programs, and taught Sunday School.

Linda cares about her community and served two terms on the Alhambra Housing and Community Development Committee.

In 2000, Linda was selected as one of 11 Asian American/Pacific Islander women, nationwide, to participate in the Asian Pacific American Womens Leadership Institute training.  She has been honored by the Greater Los Angeles YWCA as one of seven outstanding women at Edison and by the County of Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women as one of 5 outstanding women at Edison.

Linda resides in Alhambra with her husband of 39 years, Gary, who is currently serving on the city council. They have 3 grown sons, David, Trent, and Kevin.
