
Professor Sy graduated from the University of Michigan with a PhD in organizational psychology, and is currently on the faculty of the University of California, Riversidewhere. Prior to his current appointment, he spent eight years as a “Green Beret” in the U.S. Army Special Forces. His current work and research focus on leadership, emotions in the workplace and Asian American career development. Professor Sy also provides consulting, training services and coaching to various companies. Past clients include EDS, Delphi, Ford, General Motors, IBM, among others. Professor Sy has provided advice to his clients in the areas of leadership development, change management, organizational development, organizational design, strategic human resources development, marketing, new market penetration, and executive recruiting
