Volunteer With AAPA

Give back, gain project management experience, apply your leadership skills, and connect with like-minded professionals. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to solve problems, attend thr Asian American Professional Association (AAPA) and partner events for free, and receive recognition. In addition, you’ll be part of a team and growing community.

Volunteer Roles

Mentors are responsible to mentor, coach and support Mentees during the Asian American Professional Association (AAPA) Mentoring Program.

    • Help with logistics, food, materials, banners, etc.

    • Manage audiovisuals, microphones

    • Assist with registration

    • Help set up and clean up for event

    • Greet and escort guests​

    • Other tasks as needed

    • Time commitment: 4-5 hours

    • Timeframe: 1 day (as events are scheduled - includes workshops, special events, social mixers, annual celebrations, and graduation)

    • Work with mentors/follow up with donors

    • Outreach to different corporations for sponsorships

    • Follow-up with potential donors on sponsorships, tickets, ads, etc.

    • Support with writing, researching, and applying for grants

    • Update donor lists and collect contact info​

    • Other tasks as needed

    • Time commitment: 3-5 hrs/wk

    • Timeframe: 6-9 months

    • Create and edit Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn posts

    • Develop and disseminate press releases and eblasts

    • Develop communication plans

    • Market to different channels (corporations, media, past donors, new donors, nonprofits, etc.)

    • Identify cross-promotion opportunities

    • Other tasks as needed

    • Time commitment: 3-5 hrs/wk

    • Timeframe: 6-12 months

    • Develop ~20 page program book for end-of-year graduation and annual celebration gala

    • Write and edit content

    • Develop graphics and logos

    • Reach out for advertisements, logos, testimonials, bios, etc.

    • Work with team of committee members on layout and content​

    • Other tasks as needed

    • Time commitment: 3-5 hrs/wk

    • Timeframe: 3-6 months
