Virginia MaoVirginia Mao was born and raised in Guatemala, within a Chinese family, thus is fluent in Spanish and Chinese (Cantonese). After receiving a bachelor’s degree in business administration, magna cum laude, from Universidad Francisco Marroquin, she came to California to attend graduate school. Upon obtaining a master’s degree in business administration, specializing in Finance, from California State University, LA, she joined the May Company (subsequently acquired by Macy’s) as an accountant and then financial analyst. She then joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco where she served in various roles for 7 years, becoming Manager of Financial Planning & Control and End User Computing. She then worked at La Agencia de Orci & Associates as Director of Finance for 5 years. Ms. Mao joined QTC Management, Inc., subsidiary of Leidos (QTC) in 1998, where she worked in various senior leadership positions during her 24-year tenure, reaching the level of Vice President. Her areas of responsibilities included finance, accounting, internal audit, real estate, facilities management, procurement, risk management, security and legal. Ms. Mao’s over 35 years of experience and leadership in multiple areas have allowed her to effectively help grow QTC to become a $billion company, through many initiatives, projects, systems implementations, mergers & acquisitions, and investment of both financial and human resources.
Ms. Mao retired from QTC in 2023. She currently provides mentoring services to young professionals and serves as a member of the Board of Directors at two non-profit organizations: Pacific Asian Counseling Services (PACS) and Asian American Professional Association (AAPA), where she provides support and guidance. |
